What is Operation L.A.M.B.?

Named after the biblical quotation; Matt. 25:40, Operation L.A.M.B. is a fundraising charity created by the Knights of Columbus to benefit citizens with mental retardation. Since it's inception in 1974, the Operation L.A.M.B. of North Carolina has raised millions of dollars to assist citizens of North Carolina who are affected by various forms of mental retardation. Each year, Knights, their families and friends volunteer to stand long hours outside shopping centers and businesses to collect donations. They offer free Toosie Rolls to passers by and ask for donations to assist those with mental retardation.

Their smiling faces and bright yellow aprons have become familiar sights locally and throughout this great state. It is also important to note that all of the money collected goes to various state and local charities, and that your local Knights of Columbus council has no paid staff. Additional donations from individuals, corporations and foundations are sought to pay for the cost of the candy and aprons.

Tax deductible donations may be made payable to the "LAMB Foundation of NC, Inc." an IRS charitable 501(c)(3) organization, ID # 56-2139696

If you would like more information, or would like to help with a donation, please contact your local Council of the Knights of Columbus. You can use our contact form HERE

We will have guest from the various agencies we support under the LAMB program.  As the Tootsie Roll schedule is being developed we will be contacting each member and asking them to sign up for time at a store.   We will be doing two different weekends so you will be asked to volunteer time for both weekends.  Remember this is our primary fund raiser to support LAMB Operations in our community and you assistance is greatly need.
