Daily Prayers

MORNING PRAYERS

Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen

Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this
day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the
world, in reparation of my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends and in particular for the
intentions of the Holy Father.

Our Father
Our Father, Who are in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace!  The Lord is with Thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy
womb Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen

Glory be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be,
world without end.  Amen

Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  I believe
that Your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe these and all truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because You revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Act of Hope
O my God, relying on Your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of
Your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

Act of Love
O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of
love.  I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you.  I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon for all
whom I have injured.

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your assistance or sought your intercession, was left unaided.  Inspired with this confidence, we fly to
you.  O Virgin of virgins, our Mother; to you we come; before you we kneel, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of
the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer them.  Amen

Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; sits at the right had of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.  Amen

Add your own spontaneous prayers with your petitions and resolutions for the day.

Angel of God
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love entrusts me here, ever this day be at my side to light and
guard, to rule and guide.  Amen

Mark the sign of the cross on your forehead with holy water.

Parents should now use holy water to make the sign of the cross on their children’s foreheads.

Closing Prayer Before Sleep
Bless, O Lord, the repose I am about to take, that with renewed strength I may be able to serve you faithfully.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul,
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, assist me in my last agony.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, may I breathe my soul forth in peace with you.

Rising under the protection of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, and armed with the sign of the holy cross: In the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen

Angel of God
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love entrusts me here, ever this day be at my side to light and

Examination of Conscience

Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of
Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who are all-good and
deserving of all my love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and
amend my life.  Amen

Speak to God of your gratitude and joy in serving Him.  Mention any particular blessings.

Prayer for the faithful departed
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May their souls and the
souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of
the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the
power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.   Amen
