• 1952 Built and still enjoy our School building providing for the spiritual and intellectual preparation of our children for their journey to heaven
• 1958 Built and enjoyed the “new” St. Michael Church on St. Michael’s Lane
• 1979 Built and still enjoy our Parish Gym and Activity Center
• 1990 Built and still enjoy our Church Hall
• 1994 Raised $300,000 in a Capital Campaign for repairs to Parish buildings
• 1995 Began our Project 2000 Capital Campaign Fund for a new church
• 2002 Built and are enjoying the spacious and modern addition to the school
• 2003 Built and are enjoying our beautiful new Church which, like all the other projects in our history, gives Glory to God
• 2003 We paid $2,000,000 toward our $4,000,000 project for our School Addition and New Church
• 2007 Capital Campaign allowed us to meet mortgage payments, reducing our debt to $1,400,000
• Our Parish family enjoys the ability to conduct its many missions through the availability of the following amenities:
• An 11 classroom school that educates children from pre-K through 8th grade, including a library/media center, computer room, art room, full kitchen and cafeteria, a science lab, offices for learning support, counseling and administration. Middle School wing was added in 2002.
• Church Hall provides meeting space
• Gymnasium and Parish Center
• Old Church, new Church with Parish offices
• Upgraded landscaping on the grounds
• Spacious parking
• Ball field and Middle School playground
• Safe kiddy playground
• Garage and storage shed.
• That new carpeting has been installed in the school library and offices? Cost: $10,462.
• That a new media center was placed in the Parish Center? This will improve presentations and education, for example, at Donuts and Dogma, for Youth Group meetings etc. and will benefit all parishioners. A new coat of paint on the walls made the project complete. Also, removal of asbestos and lead has been completed at a cost of $23,500.
• That Joseph Puceta was voted the Best Principal in Gaston County in a Gaston Gazette poll? Cost: priceless.
• That the school’s computer system has been upgraded? Cost: $14,203.
• That plans are in the works for renovations in the gymnasium, to include a new floor and bleachers? Cost: $52,000. And that code compliant, handicap accessible bleachers are planned? Cost: $30,000.
• That the Old Church building is being renovated with a new roof and galvanized gutters and will provide us with additional meeting space? Cost: $39,000. Asbestos and lead issues have been corrected. Cost: $17,500. Heating and a/c systems will be replaced. Cost: $59,000.
• That glass panels have been installed in doors on campus for the safety of all, in compliance with safe environment policies? Cost: $8,000.
• That parking areas and sidewalks on campus are slated for repairs, resealing, restriping. Cost: $30,950.These projects are being financed through our parish administrative fund. As we move forward, please consider a generous donation to Capital Campaign 2012 so that we can pay down the mortgage on our buildings.
We can be thankful for our generous predecessors who had foresight as to our Parish’s future needs.
Please continue this spirit of giving during Campaign 2012.
