MUSIC

The worship of God through our music is a major part of the liturgical life of St. Michael’s parish. All
parishioners, both children and adults, can find venues of service in the parish music program.
Presently, there are three active groups:

St. Cecilia Choir – meets for practice on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM. Both vocalists and
instrumentalists are welcome to join us. This choir usually sings at the 10:15 Mass.

Children’s Choir – Children ages K – 8th grade. They practice on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM. The children sing once per month on a rotating mass schedule. They also sing at special liturgies such as Christmas and First Communion.

Resurrection Choir – Provides music for funeral Masses and memorial services that occur during the
year. Practice is restricted to one hour prior to each necessary service.

In addition to choirs, Cantors also fill the role of musical leadership. There is a short period of training
involved and anyone interested should contact the music director.
